‘Kennedy’ stars Sunny Leone, Rahul Bhat, and Anurag Kashyap are savouring the positive feedback they have got following its Cannes Film Festival premiere. In this comedy, Sunny Leone plays the title role.
Anurag said that he had cast the actress in an interview with news agency, admitting that he had not seen any of her films but had followed her interviews and noticed a particular sadness in Sunny’s eyes. According to the director, he needed to witness a woman who was dealing with it all and used it to “survive and navigate,” as well as a woman who was over 40 and was being sexualized by males her age (men in their 50s and 60s). Sunny was cast in “Kennedy” after Anurag suggested she fit the bill. The director also mentioned how hard Sunny worked to get the part.
Sunny Leone recently disclosed how she tried out for the film. “I was nervous and eager,” she admitted. “I knew that if I gave my audition even five minutes, Anurag would enjoy it, and he did. His entire workplace was in front of me when I was doing my audition. Because there weren’t many people in the room for most auditions, I was really anxious. Aurag convened a round table and asked everyone if they believed I was a good fit for the character of Charlie and could perform the part. Working with him was a great process.
