With a daily rise in cases Maharashtra recorded its daily hike of more than 5,000 cases on Thursday. Following which the MahaVikas Aghadi (MVA) has issued a couple of fresh guidelines and imposed lockdowns in various parts of the state.
The two districts where the lockdowns were imposed are Amravati and Yavatmal where 10 days and a week long lockdown has to be followed respectively. Where schools, colleges, coaching centers will remain shut till the lockdown ends.
In Yavatmal only 50% people will be allowed at weddings, however, religious places will be remain open with proper maintenance of the covid-19 guidelines.
Hotels and restaurants are allowed to remain open by 8 to 9:30pm, whereas markets are only allowed to open till 8pm in Yavatmal.
The lockdown in Amravati is a bit strict than of the Yavatmal as the markets will remain closed but the essentials will not be affected.
The hotels and restaurants in Amravati will only on weekends.
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also issued a set of new guidelines for especially Mumbai which are as follows:
Charges of offences will be followed against those who do not follow the covid-19 guidelines.
Around 300 marshals will be deployed to keep an eye on those who travel without masks and take immediate actions against them.
The BMC has also ordered for strict actions against those gymnasiums, malls, function halls, resorts etc who do not follow the covid-19 guidelines.
Only 50 people are allowed to gather at any function whereas 50% occupancy is allowed at the cafes and restaurants.
The civic body has ordered for prosecuting those who violate the rules of home quarantine, weddings and of any other public gathering.
A 7 day quarantine is made mandatory for those who are flying from Brazil as there is an outbreak of a new variant of coronavirus, which is said to be highly infectious than the coronavirus.
