Samrat Prithviraj, a historical drama starring Akshay Kumar, was released today. In his 30-year career, this will be the first time the actor has played a historical character on screen. On Thursday evening, Akshay Kumar resorted to social media to ask that no spoilers be shared because the film features several historical facts that few people are aware of. “It took four years for the entire team of Samrat Prithviraj, a film that brilliantly honours the life of one of India’s bravest kings, Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan, to create a visual extravaganza that we are all incredibly proud of.” Because it’s an authentic historical, there are many aspects of Samrat’s life that are lesser-known to the people of our country, especially the youth, so this is our sincere request to everyone watching the film starting tomorrow, not to give out spoilers that reveal several aspects of our film that are designed to be awe-inspiring,” the note read.
“From tomorrow onwards, we hope to thoroughly amuse you only on the big screen,” the note said.
In this visual spectacular, Akshay Kumar plays Samrat Prithviraj, the heroic warrior who fought valiantly to preserve India from the cruel invader Muhammad of Ghor. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who is best known for directing the television epic Chanakya and the critically praised film Pinjar, directed the film. Manushi Chhillar, who plays Prithviraj’s sweetheart, Princess Sanyogita, will be seen in the film for the first time. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on June 3rd.
