It is said that two young boys, ages six and eleven, were killed on Tuesday night in Baba Colony, Badaun.
According to UP Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar, the accused opened fire on the police squad following him, resulting in his death, as reported by the news agency.
Ayush and Honey, the children, were reportedly playing on a building’s terrace when Sajid came. He reportedly waited for the right opportunity to commit the horrible act.
Sajid, a 22-year-old man, has been named as the culprit in this case. Sajid’s shop is located in the Baba Colony neighbourhood of Badaun, close to the boys’ home. The location is home to the Civil Line police station.
The victims’ mother, Sangeeta, owns a beauty salon, while their father, Vinod Singh, is a contractor, according to the newspaper.
SSP Badaun According to Alok Priyadarshi, Sajid, the accused, came inside the house about 7:30 p.m. Vinod Singh was allegedly at the market at that time, and his wife was at her beauty salon. The boys, according to the authorities, were at home with their paternal grandma.
Police sources claim that Sajid went to the third floor of the residence, where the two boys were playing with their brother Piyush (8), while Vinod Singh’s mother was getting tea ready.
According to SSP Budaun Alok Priyadarshi, yesterday at approximately 7:30 p.m., the accused Sajid entered the residence and proceeded to the terrace where the kids were playing. He killed the two kids after attacking them. The throng attempted to stop him when he descended, but he managed to get away.
“Police teams swung into action when they got to know that the accused had escaped. The accused fired at the police and was killed in retaliatory fire. The murder weapon and the revolver have been recovered. In the FIR, the family of the deceased children has also named the brother, Javed of the accused. Teams are working to find him and he will be arrested soon. According to the family, the accused had demanded ₹5,000 from the father of the deceased children,” he said.
The FIR states, “The accused Sajid told my wife that he wanted money as his wife was about to deliver a child. When she went inside to take money, he said that he was feeling unwell and wanted to go for a walk on the terrace and took my sons (deceased) with him. He also called his brother Javed to the terrace. When my wife returned, she saw Sajid and Javed with a knife in their hands. Sajid also tried to attack my surviving son and he sustained injuries. Both were running away and Sajid told my wife that today he had completed his work.”
The news agency stated that when residents demonstrated against the horrifying double homicide, there was heightened police presence at the Baba colony, which is close to the Mandi Samiti outpost in Budaun.
