South Indian actor Vijay Deverakonda is usually talked about because of his movies and personal life. But lately, he’s been in the news for something he said. A complaint has been filed against him under the SC/ST Act, saying his remarks hurt the feelings of the tribal community. The police are now looking into it.
Nenavath Ashok Kumar Naik, who leads the Joint Action Committee of Tribal Communities, said Vijay made some offensive comments about the tribal community during the pre-release event of his film ‘Retro.’ Because of this, a case was registered at the Raidurgam police station in Cyberabad, and the investigation is ongoing.
The incident happened on April 26, at the film’s pre-release event in Hyderabad. People from the tribal community didn’t like what Vijay said about them. A formal complaint was filed by Kishanraj Chauhan, president of the Tribal Lawyers Association Bapunagar, accusing Vijay of making disrespectful remarks.
Vijay has already apologized, saying he didn’t mean to hurt anyone. He wrote, “I just found out that something I said during the Retro Audio launch upset some people. I want to be clear that I never wanted to offend anyone, especially the Scheduled Tribes, whom I respect a lot and see as an important part of our country.”
