Bollywood actor Dino Morea showed up at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office on Thursday, accompanied by his brother Santino Morea. The two were questioned for over three and a half hours as part of an investigation into a major scam linked to the cleaning of Mumbai’s Mithi River. The case involves alleged money laundering related to contracts worth around Rs 65.5 crore. According to reports, Dino arrived at the ED office around 10:30 in the morning after receiving a fresh summons, along with his brother, who is also accused in the case.
Earlier, on June 6, ED officials had raided Dino Morea’s home in Maharashtra, along with the homes of several BMC officials and contractors connected to the same scam. The Mumbai Police had already filed a case, and now the ED is conducting its own separate investigation. So far, 13 people have been named in connection with this Rs 65 crore scam. Those raided included Dino, a BMC engineer named Prashant Ramugade, and several others.
For context, the Mithi River scam is tied to deals made for cleaning equipment—specifically sludge pushers and dredging machines used by the BMC. These machines were reportedly rented at inflated prices from a Kochi-based company, Matprop Technical Services Pvt Ltd, raising serious questions about financial misconduct.
On a different note, Dino Morea is known for roles in movies like Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, and Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi. Most recently, he appeared in the comedy film Housefull 5, which was released on June 6, 2025. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film also stars Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Sanjay Dutt, Nana Patekar, and Jackie Shroff.
