India’s Active COVID-19 Cases Surpass 4,000, Gujarat Records Unprecedented Daily Increase

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there were 4,026 active Covid cases nationwide on Tuesday, with 65 new cases registered in the last day.

With 59 new coronavirus infections, Gujarat saw the largest one-day surge, bringing the state’s total to 397. Kerala remained at the top of the list of states with the most active cases of COVID-19.

In a single day, five deaths nationwide were also attributed to COVID-19: two in Maharashtra and one each in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.

With 1,416 active cases, Kerala is currently the state most impacted. Maharashtra has 494 instances, Gujarat has 397, Delhi has 393 cases, and West Bengal has 493. In the last 24 hours, the number of new infections has decreased in all of these states except Gujarat.
