Online rumours about the connection between Konkona Sen Sharma and Amol Parashar have been circulating for a while. After making their first public appearance together at the screening of Amol Parashar’s most recent web series, Gramme Chikitsalay, last night, the couple appeared to be making progress.
Amol Parashar and Konkona Sen Sharma were seen grinning broadly for the camera. In a grey power suit, Konkona looked like the boss. Amol was dressed in a white shirt and a blue jacket. They were photographed outside Excel Entertainment’s Khar office. In a previous interview with The Times of India, Amol had alluded to being in a serious relationship without revealing any names.
“Nothing is stopping me. I have found no good reason to put it out there,” he said. He also said real relationships have a certain “sanctity” and feel more “pure” when kept private. He also spoke about the industry dynamics where relationships are used as a PR tool. “Yaha nahi bhi hote relationships toh chala dete hai… PRs have suggested this to me before, ki kuch chala dete hai (PRs previously suggested to me to spread the rumours of my relationship)” he shared.
However, I want my work to be discussed. I’ll use my craft to express myself if I want to,” he continued.
“We are not hiding from people,” Amol continued without mentioning Konkona by name. People are aware that we attend parties. However, it hasn’t felt essential to release anything in the media. We don’t really need it.
Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, released in 2019, featured Amol Parashar and Konkona Sen Sharma on the same screen. Ranvir Shorey was Konkona’s former spouse. After splitting up in 2015, they formally got divorced in 2020.
