The second portion of the Budget session started on Monday, March 10, 2025, when the two Houses of the Indian Parliament met again. Various bills and reports from standing committees will be presented in accordance with the Lok Sabha’s agenda. The first part of Parliament’s Budget session this year drew to a close on February 13.
There are hints of a “EPIC” confrontation between the opposition and the government, which is expected to bring up topics like India’s treatment of the Trump administration, the recent wave of violence in Manipur, and the alleged manipulation of voting records. The government’s priorities would include obtaining support from Parliament for the grant requests, finishing the budgetary process, obtaining approval for the Manipur budget, and passing the Waqf Amendment Bill.
It is anticipated that Amit Shah, the home minister, will introduce a legislative resolution asking Parliament to approve the declaration of President’s Rule in Manipur. The Lower House was postponed till Monday at 2:00 p.m. The Rajya Sabha will start up again at 2:00 p.m.
