Fighting terrorists, two army soldiers—among them an elite paracommando—lost their lives. RR Swain, the J&K DGP, called the elimination of so many terrorists a huge accomplishment.
“Chinar Corps Commander, Chief Secretary of J-K, DGP J-K, and other dignitaries and all ranks paid homage to Lance Naik Pardeep Kumar and Sepoy Pravin Janjal Prabhakar, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in Kulgam on 06 Jul 2024,” the Indian Army Chinar Corps posted on X on Sunday.
One soldier lost his life in the initial encounter, which happened in Madergam. Four terrorists were slain in the second engagement in Chinigam, Kulgam, and one soldier was killed in combat.
All of the terrorists, including one who was recognised as the organization’s local commander, were associated with Hizbul Mujahideen.
