On Sunday, Sonakshi Sinha wed Zaheer Iqbal in a discreet ceremony at her Mumbai flat in Bandra. Following their civil ceremony, the couple had a lavish celebration at Bastian in Dadar. Attending the reception in style were Anil Kapoor, Kajol, Chunky Panday, Huma Qureshi, and Saqib Saleem. Attendees at the celebration included Vidya Balan and Siddharth Roy Kapur, Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Arbaaz Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Raveena Tandon, and movie veteran Saira Banu. For the celebration, the newlyweds wore their finest traditional attire. Sonakshi Sinha, who wore a red saree to the celebration, looked stunning. She used crimson choora and sindoor to complement her bridal attire. Zaheer Iqbal was dressed in a white kurta. The couple strolled hand in hand to the celebration location. They happily posed for the cameras.
Chunky Panday donned a blue blazer, while Anil Kapoor dressed appropriately for the event. Anil Kapoor accompanied Chunky Panday as they posed for photographers.
Huma Qureshi, Sonakshi’s best friend, looked stunning in white. At the reception, Saqib Saleem, her brother, was dressed in a green kurta.
Kajol was stunning in a saree. She looked quite happy for the camera. Shatrughan Sinha’s family friend Anu Ranjan attended the reception with her spouse as well.
Sharing the wedding pictures, Sonakshi Sinha wrote a note. It read, “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each others eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever.” Sonakshi added in the post, “Sonakshi weds Zaheer. 23.06.2024” Sonakshi wore her mother’s vintage saree and jewellery for the wedding.
Under the guidelines of the Special Marriage Act, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal officially registered their marriage. According to a news outlet, the civil marriage ceremony was held at the bride’s new flat, 81 Aureate, which is situated close to the Rang Sharda Auditorium in Bandra West, Mumbai. After the wedding, Sonakshi’s father Shatrughan Sinha told media, “Every father waits for this moment when his daughter is given to her chosen groom. My daughter looks most happy with Zaheer. Unki jodi salamat rahe (May their union stay strong forever).” He was accompanied by wife Poonam at the wedding.
Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are co-stars of the 2022 film Double XL. They have been reportedly in a relationship for more than 7 years.
