‘May Ram Give Good Sense To People Of Congress,’ Says Gourav Vallabh Day After Joining BJP

Gourav Vallabh claimed to have “prayed to Lord Shri Ram.” He left the Congress on Thursday and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a few hours later. Saying that Ram should “give good sense to people of Congress” so that they would cease “speaking against Sanatan (Dharma),” Vallabh expressed his hope.

Gourav Vallabh pilloried his former party, Congress, and said, “They should participate in constructive criticism…While continuously criticising Modi ji, the Congress party has reached a stage where it is criticising itself now….”

Notably, Vallabh had announced his resignation from Congress, citing his inability to consistently criticise “wealth creators” or utter anti-Sanatan rhetoric. After leaving the Congress to join the BJP, Vallabh said he “wished Congress stopped speaking against Sanatan Dharma” and cited his incapacity to talk against Sanatan Dharma as his reason.

Reputably intelligent Congress spokesperson Gourav Vallabh had earlier posted on social media site X his letter of resignation addressed to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Gourav Vallabh expressed his dissatisfaction with the Congress’s “directionless” approach to governance.

Vallabh said, “I can neither raise anti-Sanatan slogans nor abuse wealth creators day in and day out. Therefore, I resign from all posts and primary membership of the party.”

During the BJP’s inauguration, Gourav Vallabh criticised the Congress’s economic policies. He said it ridicules the policies of reforms, liberalisation and globalisation pushed by previous prime minister Manmohan Singh because of its animosity for Modi whom its leaders attack all day.

“Wealth creating cannot be a crime in the country,” he said.

He declared that he could not accept the Congress’s decision to skip the consecration ceremony and that he had always wanted the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.

“Congress leaders and allies raised questions on Sanatan Dharma but the party gave no response… A big gap has emerged in the party in its handling of different issues,” he said.

He went on, “The idea of moving India forward unites us all. I find the concept of “Viksit Bharat” appealing.”
