60 Killed, 115 Injured In Open Firing In Moscow’s Concert Hall

Over 60 people were killed and 115 left injured in an open firing by unidentified gunmen at atva concert hall in Moscow, said the Russian authorities.

All 115 injured were immediately hospitalized including five children, one of them was in critical condition. Of the 110 adult patients, 60 were in critical condition, said the Russia’s Health Minister Mikhail Murashko.

The Islamic State group has taken the accountability for the attack saying, its members attacked “a large gathering” in outskirts of Moscow.

The attackers entered the concert hall in camouflage uniforms and opened firing. Circulating videos of incident showed flames and black smoke coming out of the hall as the attackers also threw grenades.

People inside the hall starting hiding themselves behind the seats or rushed towards the basements and roofs to protect against the firing.

Many countries including Italy and Spain criticised the attack. While, US termed the attack “terrible”.

Condemning the attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking to his X handle said, “We strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack in Moscow. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims. India stands in solidarity with the government and the people of the Russian Federation in this hour of grief”.
