PM Modi To Flagg Off Developmental Projects Worth ₹6, 400 Cr In Srinagar Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of his 10-day visit to 12 states will lay foundation stone for a series of developmental projects worth ₹ 6,400 crore in Srinagar today.

It is his first visit to Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. Mr Modi will also be taking part in the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ programme at the stadium in Srinagar.

The projects which will be flagged off by the Prime Minister include boost to tourism sector for worth over ₹1,400 crore as part of thr ‘Swadesh Darshan’ and ‘PRASHAD’ (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive) schemes and also a project related to the development of Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar.

Along with the announcement of the tourist places that are selected under the Challeng-Based Destination Development (CBDD) scheme, PM Modi will also launch the ‘Chalo India Global Diaspora’ and ‘Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll’.

This is the crucial time in political domain and all are curious what PM Modi have to say during his visit to Kashmir today. Opposition parties are also expecting announcement on Assembly Polls in the Jammu and Kashmir.

On August 5, 2019, the BJP led central government had abrogated Article 370 from the erstwhile state Jammu and Kashmir that granted special status to now termed as union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
