At least 19 people lost their lives due to heavy rainfall in many regions of the North India in last three days.
Many buildings and roads are submerged under knee-deep water in many cities of the North India.
More rainfall has been forecasted by the India Meteorological Department for Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh and the adjacent areas for next few days.
People from Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Uttarakhand shared varied pictures of chaos created by heavy rainfall. The pictures showed structures being submerged under the flowing rivers, vehicles floating above the water like paper boats and muddy water entering into the residential areas.
Landslides and flash floods led to continuous rainfall in Himachal Pradesh that damged residential areas, structures and disturbed the normal life. Vehicles and shops were floated away in cities like Kullu, Chamba, Kinnaur and Manali.
In Uttarakhand also landslides and flash floods where the river flow crossed the critical mark.
Meanwhile, on Sunday the Amarnath Yatra resumed after three days of suspension from Panjtarni and Sheshnag camps. But a red alert has been given for Samba and Kathua districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
16 control rooms have been set up by the Delhi government to monitor the situation in flood-hit zones.
All schools in Delhi and Gurgaon will remain closed on Monday due to heavy rainfall. The corporates have also been guided to allow work from home to the employees in Gurgaon.
