Maharashtra Coalition Govt Hold Late Night Meeting After Ajit Pawar’s Entry Over Cabinet Expansion

The Nationalist Congress Party following defection from Ajit Pawar joined the Maharashtra coalition government.
Late night on Thursday, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of ruling government met with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to talk about power sharing.

During the meeting that stretched till 2 am, CM Shinde, Deputy CM Fadnavis discussed about the expansion of cabinet with the entry of third ally Ajit Pawar, who took oath as Deputy CM on Sunday.

Hours after the Shinde faction denied rhe rumours of its MLAs being unhappy with Ajit Pawar’s entry the meeting took place.

“We are not resignation givers but takers. His leadership is to take everyone along and be patient. Yesterday, all the MLAs, MPs have reposed faith in Eknath Shinde… all this (reports of discontent) is being done to malign Eknath Shinde,” said Uday Samant, leader from Shiv Sena.

Meanwhile, Eknath Shinde has already denied any differences inside the party, “With our government now made up of three parties, the strength of our MLAs is more than 200. Our government is only getting stronger. We have the support of PM Modi and Amit Shah, ” he said.

However, there are no reports of Eknath Shinde stepping down as the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, NCP leader Sharad Pawar expelled his 12 rebels including his close aide Praful Patel and Ajit Pawar.
