S Jaishankar Takes On Pakistan Over Terrorism At SCO, Calls Bhutto The ‘Promotor’

Union Foreign Minister S Jaishankar on Friday called Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari a “promoter, justifier and spokesperson of a terrorism industry”.

Following the meeting of member countries of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Goa, Mr Jaishankar also said, “victims of terrorism do not sit together with its perpetrators to discuss terrorism”.

“Bhutto Zardari came as Foreign Minister of a SCO member state; that’s part of multilateral diplomacy and we don’t see anything more than that,” said the union minister.

Taking out on the issue of financial struggle which Pakistan is currently facing Jaishankar further added it up with saying, “on terrorism, Pakistan’s credibility is depleting even faster than it’s forex reserves”.

This came on the day when five Indian Army soldiers were killed by terrorists in forest near Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The soldiers were conducting a search operation to find terrorists who were hiding.
India has proved Pakistan’s support to terrorism on its soil, sending trained one to Jammu and Kashmir.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is the first Foreign Minister of Pakistan to visit Indian in around 12 years now. Last to visit India was then Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar in 2011.

Meanwhile, at the SCO meeting Mr Jaishankar stressed upon the joint efforts to end terrorism. Ignoring terrorism during the meeting would not be good for the SCO, he said.
