Three boys, including one minor, have been detained by Delhi Police in connection with the Holi harassment episode. The police claim that after a video of a Japanese lady being harassed by a group of boys went viral on social media under the pretext of dousing her in color for Holi, they began looking for those boys.
“After careful investigation with the help of field officers and local intelligence, the boys seen in the film have been identified. Three lads, one of whom is a minor, have been detained and questioned. They have admitted to the incident or happening depicted in the footage, according to a statement from Delhi Police.
The incident happened in the Paharganj neighborhood of Delhi, and the woman initially posted the footage on Twitter before having it removed. She is presently in Bangladesh and is “fit in her mind and body,” according to her most recent tweet.
The lady, according to the statement, has not filed a complaint with either the Japanese embassy or the Delhi Police.
Action has been taken against those who have been detained under the Delhi Police Act. The statement read, “Further legal action will be determined on merits and in accordance with the girl’s complaint, if any.
Among those who responded to the footage and called it a “completely shameful behavior” were Bollywood actor Richa Chadha and the head of the Delhi Commission for Women, Swati Maliwal. National Commission for Woman chairperson Rekha Sharma had previously written to Delhi Police to ‘immediately file FIR in the matter’.

In the popular video, the guys touched her inappropriately and painted her. Even an egg was cracked on her cranium by one man. As seen in the footage, the woman struggled to get away from the group of men. But she persisted in saying “bye” and “bye” as she made an effort to leave that gathering. As one of the guys touched her again, she gave a brief smile to the camera before slapping him and leaving.
