Ranbir Kapoor To Visit Eden Gardens Ahead Shooting For Sourav Ganguly’s Biopic

Sourav Ganguly, a past captain of the Indian men’s cricket team, announced on social media in 2021 that a biopic about his life is in the works and will be made by Luv Ranjan’s production company. Ranbir Kapoor was said to be the leading candidate for the lead part in a previous report. But back then, Sourav had brushed off the news, claiming that “no final choice has been made. After the meeting, I hope we can exchange something constructive.

A few days ago, rumors that Ranbir would shortly travel to Kolkata to see the famous Eden Gardens, the office of the Cricket Association of Bengal, and even Ganguly’s home before he begins filming for the biopic—which is expected to have a sizable budget—resurfaced. According to reports, Sourav has approved the final draft of the script, and production is set to begin shortly on the movie.

Ankur Garg, the co-producer of the movie, responded to our inquiry by saying, “Honestly, I don’t have any updates to share at this moment. After the publication of our upcoming movie, we’ll concentrate on a number of projects, including the biopic. Casting or anything else hasn’t been considered as of yet. Dona Ganguly, Sourav’s wife, said, “I’m not positive. I’m not sure yet, and I’d advise against making any assumptions just yet.

One of the project’s founders and a close associate of Sourav, Sanjay Das, stated, “Nothing about the movie is set in stone yet. The choice of the main actor will need to be made within the next eight to nine months. When everything is ready, Sourav and the production company will officially reveal who will portray his character on film. At this time, it is only a rumor that Ranbir Kapoor will play Dada.
