Delhi NCR Suffers Continuous With Poor Air Quality, CAQM To Invoke GRAP

According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research, the national capital’s overall air quality stayed in the “very poor” category again on Saturday, with the AQI being recorded at 338 at around 7 am (SAFAR). The metropolis was shrouded in a thin fog early in the day.

The national capital’s AQI on Friday was 329. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) activated the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage-II due to the recent decline in air quality in the national capital area.

It has been requested that all the actions listed under Stage II of the GRAP be strictly implemented, and that Stage I actions be intensified, by the relevant authorities, Pollution Control Boards (PCBs) in the NCR, and the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC).

The air quality index was classified as “very poor” by all significant monitoring sites in the city. Noida also experienced “very poor” air quality, with a 375 rating. At 322, Gurugram’s AQI also fell into the “very poor” group. An AQI of 201 to 300 is regarded as “poor,” 301 to 400 as “very poor,” and 401 to 500 as “severe.”

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that the day’s high and low temperatures will be roughly 31°C and 12°C, respectively. The minimum weather on Friday was 12.8°C, which was two degrees higher than average.
