A terrible event occurred in Karnataka when a Dalit woman was publicly beaten with slippers after her cow wandered into an upper caste man’s land in the Koppal region of the state. According to reports, the male allegedly called the woman casteist epithets. Social media sites like Twitter are being used to disseminate the movie worldwide. The victim’s nine-year-old daughter is claimed to have taken the footage.
The girl can be heard sobbing in the video, but she persisted in recording it in order to humiliate her neighbour. The man can be seen beating the woman in the footage. The Class 3 kid reportedly received praise from the authorities for her foresight in rushing home to get her phone and film a video of the incident.
The police have made an arrest based on the footage and the complaint. The Dalit family’s cow vanished on the night between February 2 and 3; the family discovered it the next morning when they failed to discover the cow where it should have been. The family searched in various locations for the cow before realising it was tied close to their neighbour Kallappa Kumbara’s home.
The neighbour began throwing casteist insults at the Dalit woman when she attempted to untie the cow so she could take her back and dared her not to leave the cow alone since it was destroying their farm’s vegetables. Amaresh, the mother’s son, later joined in the abuse and struck her with his slippers.
After the video went viral on social media, the Kanakagiri police launched an investigation and filed a case against Amaresh for crimes, assault, and outraging a woman’s modesty. Based on the evidence and the victim’s statements, he was detained.
