China In Progress To Build 60,000 Megawatt Dam Across Medog Border: Sources

A 60,000 megawatt dam is being constructed by China on the Yarlung Tsangpo River, according to sources in the Ministry of Power. The dam is still being built, and it’s just next to Arunachal Pradesh on the Medog border.

India is worried about this dam being built in China. After building the dam, China will be able to divert water from the Brahmaputra River, according to the sources.

Additionally, it has the ability to produce a flood-like condition by blocking the flow of water from this dam. Sources further stated that Arunachal Pradesh and Assam may experience water shortages or flood-like conditions as a result of China’s dam.

According to the source from the Ministry of Power, Bangladesh may also be impacted by the development of the dam in addition to India.

The insider added that India is prepared for any circumstance. The insider claimed that “India is also constructing numerous dams in Arunachal Pradesh with storage capacity.”
