Opposition Parties Join Hands Ahead ECI’s Meeting On RVMs

Sixteen opposition parties met at the Constitution Club of Delhi on Sunday to discuss the joint strategy for meeting called by the Election Commission of India. The meeting was coordinated by Congress party.

Congress in its statement said that the opposition parties will take a joint step following the ECI meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

However, Congress has already rejected ECI’s proposal.
“It was decided that the ECI’s response to the questions raised by the parties in tomorrow’s meeting will be collectively be considered later and the opposition parties will take a joint stand on the issue,” said the Congress.

The parties which met on ahead the ECI’s meeting discussed the “questions to be placed before ECI regarding the remote voting machines, ” said Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh.

Meanwhile, the Nationalist Congress and Samajwadi Party could not take part in the meeting held on Sunday due to unavoidable reasons but they consented with the discussions happened in the meeting.
