Newly Appointed CJI Chandrachud Look Ahead To Make SC A ‘No-Stress’ Court For Everyone

On November 9, Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud acknowledged the congratulations of the attorneys present in the courtroom and responded that he would try to make the Supreme Court a “no-stress” court for everyone.

However, the three-judge bench, presided over by Chief Justice Chandrachud, began the day’s court proceedings by apologising for keeping the attorneys waiting much past the appointed hour of 11.30 a.m. During the majority of the lunch break, the Bench heard cases.

Justices Hima Kohli and J.B. Pardiwala were in the company of Chief Justice Chandrachud.

Chief Justice Chandrachud had earlier in the day assured the media that helping the average person would be his first focus.

The Supreme Court Registry would need to be reformed, cases would need to be listed quickly, and more technology would be used to improve the justice delivery system, according to him.

The CJI said, “I have a big opportunity and a great responsibility on my shoulders.
