Heavy Tremors Of Magnitude 6.3 Felt In Nepal And Across Delhi-NCR Midnight

At least six people have died in a house collapse in Doti district of Nepal on Wednesday due to an earthquake of 6.3 magnitude. It’s heavy tremors were even felt across the Delhi-NCR regions.

Kalpana Shrestha, the Chief District Officer of Doti confirmed the death of six people and injuries to many in the incident.

“At least six people were killed and five were injured and were being taken to the hospital. Dozens of houses have been damaged with landslides at various locations across the district,” said an official.

As per the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake hit around 1.57 am on Wednesday.

Nepal witnessed three earthquakes in six hours – the first was hit around 8.52 pm on Tuesday of a magnitude 4.9, second hit was around 9.41 pm of 3.5 magnitude. While, this was the third hit around 1.57 am on Wednesday of 6.3 magnitude.

Heavy tremors were even felt in several parts of North India including Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Although, no death or injury was reported.
