Morbi Civil Hospital Undergoes Makeover Ahead PM Modi’s Visit To See The Injured

The all-night makeover of the civil hospital which was treating the injured in Morbi bridge collapse has drawn a sharp criticism ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.

Total death tally in the incident is 141 which include many women and children. More than 100 injured are under treatment in the Morbi civil hospital.
The British-era bridge collapsed on Sunday evening taking several directly into the Machchhu river and some dangling with the broken bridge.

According to the reports, the falls of the hospital werevl freshly painted and new water coolers were set up ahead of PM Modi. Bedsheets of two wards were also changed.

This makeover before the visits of the top government officials is very common has drawn a sharp criticism by the opposition. Parties including Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have alleged BJP for being busy with the “event management” to make sure a good photoshoot is done for PM Modi.

Calling it a tragic incident, Congress from its Twitter handle tweeted in Hindi, “Tomorrow, Prime Minister Modi will visit the civil hospital in Morbi. Ahead of that, painting is on, shiny tiles are being laid. All arrangements are being made to ensure that there is nothing amiss in the Prime Minister’s pictures. They have no shame, so many people have died, and they are busy in event management.”

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party uploaded pictures of the late night makeover of the hospital with a caption, “Scenes at the Morbi Civil Hospital. Repair work is on to ensure there is nothing amiss in the Prime Minister’s photoshoot tomorrow. If the BJP had worked in the past 27 years, there would have been no need to spruce up the hospital at midnight.”
