Bomb blast In Coimbatore, NIA Recovers Bomb Making Material From Deceased Place

According to top police sources in Coimbatore, Jameesha Mubin, a 29-year-old engineering graduate who perished in the Coimbatore automobile blast on Sunday, was in “bad condition” and was “ready to take a risk.”

Investigations revealed that he had heart problems, had had both of his eyes operated on, and was in quite terrible health. He might have thus chosen to commit suicide, according to one of the sources.

According to earlier reports, Mubin’s Whatsapp status revealed that he was knew he was going to die in the incident when his car’s LPG cylinder exploded in front of the Kottai Eswaran Temple in the Ukkadam neighbourhood, killing him.

“A suicide bomber typically acts in such a way as to cause the victim the most harm possible. Here, Mubin had kept many of the raw components (potassium nitrate, aluminium powder, sulphur, and charcoal) at home rather than transporting everything in his automobile, the insider claimed.

We are now focusing on (Mohammad) Azhar and Afsar (Khan), Mubin’s relatives, to make sure no more consignments were carried, the source added. Now that they are both being held,

One of Mubin’s associates, “ISIS sympathiser” Feroz Ismail, reportedly travelled to Kerala to meet Mohammed Azharudeen, who was allegedly a member of the “Coimbatore/Kerala ISIS” module and had been detained in connection with the 2019 Easter bombings in Sri Lanka, according to sources in the Coimbatore police. He is currently incarcerated in a Keralan prison.

Tuesday saw the Coimbatore police detain Ismail.

The Sunday explosion happened about 4.10 in the morning. Mubin, who was in the Maruti 800 at the moment the LPG cylinder exploded, allegedly owned the car. The incident only resulted in his death.

Five people were initially detained by police, who booked them in accordance with the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. On Thursday, a sixth arrest was made, and that same day, the National Investigation Agency was given the case’s investigation by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (NIA). Mubin is also listed as an accused party in the NIA FIR.

Investigators suspected a probable angle of a terror plan due to the circumstances surrounding Mubin’s passing; he had been questioned by the NIA in 2019 for claimed ties to a radical network connected to the Easter Sunday bombs in Sri Lanka.

Mubin was thought to have connections to Zahran Hashim’s network, who was responsible for the Easter bombs.

The question of whether Mubin was operating on his own or with assistance is undoubtedly under investigation, according to Coimbatore City Police Commissioner V Balakrishnan.

Although Mubin had not met Azharudeen, “his close accomplice Feroz had,” according to Coimbatore police sources, who also said that “maybe through him (Feroz), he could have been getting orders.”

The sources further state that the two guys occasionally went to Kerala together. “Mubin had travelled for medical attention, while Feroz had travelled to Kerala to visit two detainees.”

When news agency visited the area on Thursday afternoon, Mubin’s neighbours chose not to comment on him. Nevertheless, the blast has sparked a political debate in Tamil Nadu.
