Former Punjab CM Amarinder Singh Declares Formation Of Alliance With BJP

On Friday, Captain Amarinder Singh declared that his Punjab Lok Congress (PLC) and the BJP, a party he battled against throughout his lengthy career in the Congress and which he will join on September 19th, would unite.

A list of PLC leaders who are anticipated to join the BJP in Delhi alongside Amarinder, according to party spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliyewal, is now being finalized.

Amarinder Singh is already with us, according to BJP national executive member Harjit Grewal on Friday. He does not belong outside.

Response to claims made by the Punjab government’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) that the BJP was waging “Operation Lotus” to overthrow it, Singh said in an interview with The Indian Express the day before the merger was announced, “It does not make any sense if the BJP buys 12 MLAs out of the 92 MLAs AAP has. To overthrow the government, you need more than 50% of the vote. To deflect attention, they [AAP] are generating unneeded noise.

He added that Delhi was in charge of the AAP government in Punjab. “After all, is it a functioning government when a man from Delhi who comes to make decisions, Raghav Chadha, is in charge? Anything significant is forwarded to Delhi so that [Delhi CM Arvind] Kejriwal can make a decision. They are not allowing Bhagwant Mann, the poor CM, to operate.

Early in November of last year, a month and a half after the party replaced him as CM with Charanjit Singh Channi, Amarinder resigned from the Congress.
