Brahmastra had a remarkable launch weekend, with business trending upward throughout the first three days. The film made Rs. 37 crores on its first day of release, Rs. 42 crores the next, and lastly Rs. 46 crores on Sunday, bringing its three-day total to Rs. 125 crores. Ranbir Kapoor now has a bigger opening weekend haul than his previous record holder, Sanju. This is an unprecedented performance for a movie that was released without a single holiday.
Out of 125 crore rupees, Brahmastra has made almost 16 crore rupees from the South Indian dub, with the Telugu dub topping the pack with about 13 crore rupees. With its performance in the Hindi version as well, Brahmastra has reached a century. With the Hindi version, the movie has made between Rs. 109 and 110 crores through the first three days, placing it among the top five opening weekends for a Bollywood film in history.
The movie broke multiple records over the weekend thanks to the hype surrounding it, but Brahmastra’s future will depend on how well it does on Monday’s box office. The movie will begin its journey toward being a lucrative endeavor with a strong day to the north of Rs. 16 crores. However, a day below Rs. 14 crores will cause issues down the road. Brahmastra is in the wait and watch stage after a questionable result on Monday in the Rs. 15 crore area.
Regardless of where it was shown during the weekend—in the North or the South, on single screens or multiplexes—the movie did well overall. As anticipated, the three national chains have generated more than half of the overall revenue, with fantastic occupancy rates for the 3D and IMAX 3D versions. Indicating a potential stronghold in collections on Monday, the 2D version also performed strongly on Sunday.
