Beginning on Sunday morning in the capital city’s Parassala neighbourhood, the 19-day Kerala leg of the Congress-sponsored Bharat Jodo Yatra began.
Rahul Gandhi officially began the yatra after receiving a warm welcome from KPCC president and MP K Sudhakaran, LoP in the state legislature V D Satheesan, AICC general secretary Tariq Anwar, and other top Congress figures.
Along with former Kerala governor Oommen Chandy and ex-LoP Ramesh Chennithala, other senior party officials who received the former party leader included Congressmen K C Venugopal and Shashi Tharoor.
Many admirers and supporters gathered to welcome Rahul Gandhi.

Over the course of 19 days, Mr. Gandhi will travel 450 miles to Nilambur in Malappuram after entering Kerala from Parasala on the border with Tamil Nadu.
On September 14, the yatra will reach Kollam district.
On September 17, it will arrive in Alappuzha. On September 21 and 22, it will travel through the Ernakulam district before arriving in Thrissur on September 23.
On September 26 and 27, the Congress yatra will travel through Palakkad, and on September 28, it will arrive in Malappuram.
Over the course of 150 days, the yatra will travel through 12 states, two union territories, and 3,750 miles from Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu to Jammu and Kashmir.
Mega rallies will take place in 22 significant cities.
