Prithviraj, the historical drama starring Akshay Kumar, now has a new title. The film has been renamed Samrat Prithviraj, as requested by the Karni Sena. On Friday, the producers reportedly wrote a letter to the Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena’s national president, youth president, and Maharashtra president informing them of their decision to rename the film Samrat Prithviraj.
“We will alter the title of the film to “Samrat Prithviraj” as a result of numerous rounds of conversations between us, and to quietly and amicably resolve the voiced grievance. We are grateful for our mutual agreement that you have no additional objections to our Film and that the other issues mentioned by you before are no longer a source of disagreement between us. We appreciate Shri Rajput Karni Sena and its members understanding our good intentions with regard to the film’s representation of the great warrior. We appreciate your unwavering support for the film’s distribution, both locally and globally, as well as the assurances you offered in your letter “read a portion of the letter written by YRF’s CEO
Only a few days ago, rumours surfaced that the Karni Sena, which had previously expressed reservations about the film, had given it a thumbs up after seeing it. They also sought a title modification, asking producers to add the word “Samrat” to the title. The makers of Prithviraj have now agreed to the Sena’s request.
When it comes to Samrat Prithviraj, Akshay Kumar will star with Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, and Ashutosh Rana, among others. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi directs the film, which also features former beauty pageant winner Manushi Chhillar. On June 3, 2022, the film will be released.
