According to sources, the government authorised the launch of a probe into former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede’s alleged bungled investigation into the ‘drugs-on-cruise’ case involving Aryan Khan, the son of Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan.
They added that because Wankhede is an IRS officer, the relevant body in this issue, the Ministry of Finance, has been urged to take necessary action against him for allegedly presenting a bogus caste certificate.
Wankhede was the NCB’s Mumbai Zonal Director at the time, and he was in charge of the case’s initial investigation.
“Now that #AryanKhan and 5 others got a clean chit,” declared the office of Nawab Malik, a Maharashtra Minister, in a Tweet after the NCB’s submission. Will the #NCB go after #SameerWankhede, his team, and the private army? Or will it protect the criminals?”
