IAS Who Walked Dog At State-Run Stadium Transferred To Ladakh

The IAS officer who used walk his dog in a government run stadium in Delhi has been transferred to Ladakh. This comes after a report made it clear that the government run Thyagraj Stadium was being closed for sports activities so that the IAS officer could get a space to walk his dog.

An order from Union Home Ministry said the 1994-batch IAS officer Sanjeev Khirwar has been transferred to Ladakh and his wife to Arunachal Pradesh with immediate effect.

Additionally, the Home Ministry had also asked the Delhi Chief Secretary to submit a report over the misuse of the government facility by Mr Khirwar and his wife.

Following that, the Chief Secretary issued the report to the Home Ministry by Thursday evening that led to IAS officials’ immediate transfers.

Currently, Mr Khirwar is posted as Principal Secretary (Revenue) in Delhi.

The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has also ordered that all government-run sports facilities to stay open for sportspersons till 10 pm.

“It has come to my notice that sportspersons are facing problems because of the heat and the stadiums get closed by 6 or 7 pm. We are issuing instructions that all sports facilities should remain open till 10 pm so that sportspersons can use them,” said CM Kejriwal.
