On Monday, the State Election Commission stated that the first and second phases of Madhya Pradesh’s Panchayat elections 2021-2022 will begin with the filing of nomination papers (December 13, 2021).
According to news agency, the preparations for three-tier panchayat polls have been completed in the districts for receiving nominations.
“The last date for receipt of nomination papers is December 20 for phases 1 and 2 and for phase 3, the nominations will close on January 6. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on December 21 for phases 1 and 2 and on January 7 for phase 3. The last date for withdrawal of candidature and allotment of election symbols is December 23 for the first and second phases and January 10 for the third phase,” the State Election Commission said in a statement.
Voting for the MP panchayat elections will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on January 6 for the first phase, January 28 for the second phase, and February 16 for the third phase.
Nine districts will vote in the first round of municipal body elections, seven districts in the second phase, and the other 36 districts in the final phase.
Additionally, after the voting is completed for the Panch and Sarpanch positions, the votes will be counted immediately at the polling locations, and the election results for the Panch and Sarpanch positions will be revealed on January 11 for the first phase, on February 2 for the second phase, and February 21 for the third phase.
On the other hand, Janpad Panchayat and Zila Panchayat members’ votes from EVMs will be counted on January 10 for the first phase, February 1 for the second phase, and February 20 for the third phase at the block development offices. For all phases, the results will be released on February 22nd.
