US Against Indo-Russia’s S-400 Defence Missile Deal?

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday an agreement to supply India with S-400 air defence missiles was being carried out in spite of what he said were U.S. endeavors to undermine the agreement.

At a news conference in India he said, India had clarified that it was a sovereign nation.

The agreement with Moscow puts India in risk of sanctions from the US under a 2017 U.S. law pointed toward deflecting nations from purchasing Russian military equipment.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, S-400 agreement doesn’t have just a representative significance. It has a significance for an Indian safeguard ability and the circumstance is essentially in progress. The agreement has been executed.

We saw endeavors on the part of United States to undermine this participation and to cause India to abide by the American orders, to follow the American vision of how this area ought to be developed, he said.

He further said, “Our Indian friends clearly and firmly explained that they are a sovereign country & they will decide whose weapons to buy and who is going to be a partner of India in this and other areas.”
