At least eight people lost their lives and 20 injured after a bus fell off a bridge into a gorge in Jammu on May 30, Tuesday.
The accident happened in the Jajjar Kotli area when the bus was on its way to Katra.
According to the sources, the bus was taking pilgrims to Mata Vaishno Devi temple.
Meanwhile, Jammu Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kohli told, “eight people have fatal casualties and 20 others are injured. Rescue operation is on”.
Soon after hearing about the accident, police and the local residents hurried to the spot and the rescue operation began.
All the injured were immediately taken to the nearby GMC Hospital of Jammu.
