The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala in Punjab has been announced has a containment zone after 60 students were tested positive for Covid- 19. The students tested positive had mild symptoms and were immediately shifted to separate blocks in isolation.
The authorities were asked to make the hostels vacated by May 10 to contain the spread of Covid-19.
There is continues rise in Covid-19 cases in India since past few weeks with many cases coming from schools and colleges across the country.
Lately, 16 girls of the Welham Girl’ School in Dehradun of Uttarakhand also tested positive for Covid-19.
Earlier, schools in Noida, Gaziabad and Delhi also reported cases, however, the school authorities has asked the parents not to worry.
In the mean time, the Covid-19 cases in Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) campus rose to more than 170, but the authorities did not shut down the college. “The government and authorities are trying their best to ensure that IIT Madras Covid cluster doesn’t spread to other places,” Dr J Radhakrishnan had said, the Principal Health Secretary.
