3 Soldiers Killed In Fresh Encounter Between Army And Terrorists In Kulgam

Three soldiers were killed in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir in an encounter between the Indian Army and terrorists.

The encounter as a joint operation by the police and Army based was carried out based on an information about presence of terrorists in Halan forests region.
Soon after the Army targeted the terrorists, it resulted in heavy firing that led to killing of three soldiers.

“On specific inputs regarding presence of terrorists on higher reaches of Halan in Kulgam, operations launched by Security Forces on 04 Aug 23. In exchange of firing with terrorists, three personnel sustained injuries and later succumbed. Search operations are continuing.” said 15 Corps taking to Twitter handle.

Search operations have been further intensified after the incident.

In April and May of this year, 10 soldiers from Indian Army including five commandos were killed in multiple encounters in the Rajouri and Poonch districts, despite these areas are known for terrorism free zones for last 20 years.
