Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar said three soldiers and a civilian were hurt in the current Anantnag encounter, while two to three militants were trapped.
After police, 19 Rashtriya Rifles, and Central Reserve Police closed off the Rishipora region of Anantnag in order to track down the terrorist, an encounter erupted. As the searches were being carried out, militants hidden in the area opened fire, resulting in a confrontation.
“Anantnag’s Rishipora area has been the scene of an encounter. Police and security personnel have been dispatched to the scene. More information will be forthcoming. In a tweet, Kashmir Zone Police wrote.
Terrorists have taken refuge in a husk machine and have engaged in combat with combined parties.
“During the present confrontation, three soldiers and a civilian have been injured,” the IGP told Greater Kashmir. “They’ve been evacuated and are in good condition,” he said.
Due to the darkness, police stated extra precautions are being taken, and the final assault is expected to take place at first light on Saturday.
