Three people died in fresh violence in Bishnupur district of Manipur on late Friday night. The dead were from Meitei community of Kwakta region.
Many houses of Kuki community were also set on fire in the fresh violence that took place yesterday.
Since the incident took place, there has been a continuous firing going on in the Bishnupur district between the security forces and Kuki community.
According to the police, a couple of people crossed the buffer zone to enter the Meitei community and fired on them. The buffer zone was made 2 km ahead the Kwakta region of Bishnupur district, which is currently being guarded by central forces.
On Thursday, 17 people were injured during clashes between the Meitei community and armed forces and the fresh violence was followed by this incident.
This fresh violence in Bishnupur forced the authorities from Imphal East and Imphal West to continue curfew which was relaxed in an earlier announcement. This will work as a precautionary measure.
