25 People Injured As Bus Loses Control On National Highway In Bhubaneswar’s Mayurbhanj

Up to 25 people were hurt when a bus carrying them lost control and flipped over late on Sunday night on National Highway-18 close to Krushnachandrapur in the Mayurbhanj district.

Sources claim that the incident occurred as the unfortunate Indrani bus, which had more than 50 people on board, was traveling from Rairangpur to Bhubaneswar.

The car’s driver lost control of the wheels, causing it to flip over on the Baripada-Betanati road and injuring 25 passengers.

Ambulances from the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and firefighters arrived at the scene after learning of the accident and helped the wounded passengers. The recovery effort took place for about 30 minutes.

The Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital, in Baripada, has received all of the wounded patients. Four of the 25 injured were reported to have critical health problems, according to sources.

Overspeeding is thought to have contributed to the accident.

The incident was being investigated when Betanati officers arrived on the scene.
