2 Army Officers And 1 Deputy Superintendent Killed In Encounter In J&K’s Anantnag.

Three Army officers — a Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir, a Major of a Rashtriya Rifles unit and a Colonel were killed in an encounter with terrorists in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The three officers identified as Deputy Superintendent Himanyun Muzamil Bhat, Major Aashish Dhonchak and Colonel Manpreet Singh were killed during the encounter.

The Colonel was awardee of Sena Medal and was the commander of 19 Rashtriya Rifles unit.

Rashtriya Rifles is Army force that works as counter-insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir.

Father of Himayun Muzamil, Ghulam Hassan Bhat who is a retired Inspector General (IG) laid a wreath on his son’s body.

“Deeply saddened by the terrible loss of three young bravehearts Col. Manpreet Singh, Major Ashish Dhonack of 19 RR & DySP Humayun Muzamil Bhat son of retired IG of J&K Police Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat,” said Dilbag Singh, Director General of Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Meanwhile, Lt Governor Manoj Singh also laid a wreath on Himanyun Muzamil Bhat’s body.

The bodies of the three killed were recovered from the dense forests of Kokernag region in Ananatnag district.
