On Thursday, actor Sushmita Sen and Lalit Modi, the inaugural chairman of the Indian Premier League, proclaimed a “fresh beginning.” When Lalit Modi referred to Ms Sen as his better half, his followers began to wonder if they were wed. A warning: They are not.

As a result of investigations into tax evasion and money-laundering connected to the IPL, Lalit Modi had departed India in 2010. Since then, he has resided in London.
In 1994, Sushmita Sen was crowned Miss Universe. Dastak, a 1996 Bollywood film, marked her screen debut. In movies like Biwi No 1, Do Knot Disturb, Main Hoon Na, Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya, Tumko Na Bhool Paayenge, and No Problem, she has appeared.
In December of last year, Sushmita Sen announced her separation from model-actor Rohman Shawl. She is the sole parent of two children, Renee and Alisah. Alisah joined the family in 2010, while Renee was adopted by Ms. Sen in 2000.
