Govt Revises ₹100 Reduction In LPG Cylinder On International Women’s Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a 100 rupee price drop for LPG cylinders in honour of International Women’s Day. The updated prices will take effect at midnight, according to official sources.

In an X post, PM Narendra Modi said, “Today, on Women’s Day, our Government has decided to reduce LPG cylinder prices by Rs. 100.”

“This will significantly ease the financial burden on millions of households across the country, especially benefiting our Nari Shakti,” the Prime Minister tweeted.

“By making cooking gas more affordable, we also aim to support the well-being of families and ensure a healthier environment. This is in line with our commitment to empowering women and ensuring ‘Ease of Living’ for them,” he wrote on X.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath thanked the Prime Minister and stated that the decision was made for the benefit of the public, quoting his tweet.

“Today, on the occasion of ‘Women’s Day’, the decision of discount of ₹ 100 in the prices of LPG cylinder will provide financial relief to crores of families and will also provide a healthy and happy life to the mother power by freeing them from smoke and pollution.”

“On behalf of the people of the state, I express my heartfelt gratitude to you, Respected Prime Minister, for this public welfare gift that honors the mother power and preserves the environment!” a rough translation from the Chief Minister’s post in Hindi suggested.

BJP chief JP Nadda said, “Today, on the occasion of ‘International Women’s Day’, the decision of the respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to give a discount of ₹ 100 per cylinder for the easy life and self-reliance of our mother power is commendable. This decision will reduce the financial burden of our mothers and sisters and will provide them with good health and a happy life. I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for this important initiative dedicated to the purpose of environmental protection and honoring mother power.”

Union Minister Smriti Irani also wrote on X, “Today on Women’s Day, congratulations to the Prime Minister for this sensitive decision in the interest of crores of mothers and sisters. The decision of discount of ₹ 100 in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders is welcome. In the context of creating ‘smoke-free kitchens’, this decision will provide financial benefits to the women power of the country and their family members and will make their lives easier.”

BJP’s Suvendu Adhikari said, “Wonderful announcement made by Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji on the occasion of Women’s Day. LPG Cylinder Price Cut By Rs 100. This would immensely benefit all the Homemakers.”

Talking to news agency, Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa said, “PM Modi has always worked for the pride and honour of women. We believe in doing things first and talk about it later.”

BJP leader Rajendra Rathore said, “PM Modi has given yet another gift to people on the occasion of International Women’s Day.”

The price increase for 19 kilogramme commercial LPG petrol cylinders was announced by Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) on March 1.

The 19 kilogramme commercial LPG gas cylinder in Delhi was selling for Rs 1,795.00 after the increase.

Commercial petrol cylinders were updated to cost Rs 1,911.00 in Kolkata, Rs 1,749.00 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,960.50 in Chennai.
