₹50 Lakh Compensation by Rau’s IAS Coaching for Delhi Coaching Deaths, Lawyer Reveals

The coaching centre would provide ₹50 lakh to each of the families of the three students who drowned in its Delhi basement, according to a lawyer for Rau’s IAS Study Circle.

“What we are offering is a ₹50 lakh compensation to each one of the students who has lost his life. Rs. 25 lakhs right away and Rs. 25 lakhs once Abhishek, the CEO of the organisation, comes out and we can meet the financial requirement to pay the remaining Rs. 25 lakhs. I also have committed that the next part will be paid within six months… Different people have different expectations, I am a messenger,” advocate Mohit Saraf told news agency.

Water invaded the basement and the three pupils perished in Rau’s study circle coaching in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. The CEO of the company, Abhishek Gupta, has been detained by the authorities in relation to the incident.

At the time of the occurrence, the driver of a car that went by the Rau coaching was also detained by the police. They claimed that the basement was affected by the water the car moved. Today, a local court declared that the accused was guilty of over-enthusiasm and granted him bail.

Manuj Kathuria, an SUV driver, was given bail by the court after the prosecution notified them that they had chosen not to pursue more serious accusations of culpable homicide that did not amount to murder against him.

Extra Meetings However, the defendants were told by Judge Rakesh Kumar “not to pass any comments regarding the case to print and electronic media in any manner”.

In support of the accused, senior advocate Vikas Pahwa claimed that the prosecution had neglected to submit crucial scientific evidence, such as the amount of water that was allegedly displaced by his SUV, the cubic volume of water that was on the road at the time of the incident, and the tensile strength of the iron door that was purportedly impacted by the displaced water.

“Without these crucial measurements, it is impossible to establish a direct causal link between the applicant’s (Kathuria’s) actions and the damage caused to the coaching centre,” he said.
